I recently had a new well installed, but I am seeing some strange behavior with it. Initially, I was told that I was getting 7 GPM @ 38 PSI. But I ran a test on it yesterday and there was hardly 1 GPM @ 5 PSI. I have a temp hose attached to the water cock that I open, and I get decent flow at first (presumably from the 52 gal tank) before the pump kicks on. I can maintain good flow (more than the 7 GMP) but no more than a minute or so before the flow drops significantly. I assume this is because of the drawdown, but I would expect a slow increase of pressure over time, but what I am seeing is an immediate surge back to max pressure and GPM, again for about a minute or 2. Then the pressure and GMP resorts back to the trickle. This cycles every 8 to 10 minutes. Does anyone have a clue to what might be causing this. All my neighbors get 15 to 20 GPM @ 40 PSI continuously.
