Will you be using the same water that feeds your house from the street? If so, your water bill should should give you the answer. It will tell you the amount of water you use and the cost of that amount. You can call them and they will answer any questions you may have. The amount of water you will use is dependent upon the number of irrigation heads, the flow rate of the heads and your system pressure(the water company can tell you the pressure to your house). I just turned on one of our customers. 16 zones about 3-5 heads a zone. his water bill was 1200 or 1600 not positive what he said.and he thought it was higher than usual.he had 12 heads that were leaking around the collar so that didnt help his bill to much. You could always get a well somwhere down the line. i spent 100 hours putting one in last year, by hand, in my yard. After i found the water though. i could now bang the well head,hook up the pump,and have it hooked up to my sprinklers in 2 hours. 13 ft down i have plenty of water.its possible to do this yourself,im a service tech,but dont do anything with wells besides prime them for the homeowner.
