Life is getting to be too much! First, nearly everything is dead from freezing, and second I couldn't get water out of my well all day. I have a 2HP sprinkler pump pulling water up a two inch well, and it was working fine before these last few freezing days. Today, the motor ran fine, on and off for several hours, in fact, but all I could get it to do was spit a tablespoon-full every once in a while. I primed it and kept checking and adding water, and it gurgled; I made and remade the connections between the check valve and the pump (a royale pain); and ... that's all I knew how to do. How do I know whether the pump itself is faulty? Could it have been damaged by the recent freezing? If so, what would the symptoms be? I hate to drop $300 on another pump if the problem could be something I overlooked.
