I have a few question since I don't have the advantage of seeing the problem area. Was the mainline to the hedge sprinklers above ground or was it buried with the hedge sprinklers on tall risers. Is the line going to the pool planter above ground straight from the hedge row which is a foot higher than the pool planter? The only reason to keep it up high is the type of plants in the planter and how you like irrigating them. If you have a small border or wall around the pool planter you would have to tunnel under it to get inside the planter with irrigation under ground(easy). It is was probably high because this set up was easiest and was not highly visible because of the hedge. JMHO Aloha
