Issues with running irrigation conduit under pavers?

I'm planning a drip irrigation for my garden, which happens to be on the other side of a paver path from where the water source is. I read about using PVC pipe with water to get a conduit under a concrete path. However I'm worried, given that the path is made of pavers, that carving out a tunnel with water will weaken the integrity of the path (which is 3 feet wide).

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

remove the width of pavers needed. Dig the trench. Place two larger size sleeve for pipe and an an addition spare. Backfill and compact well with sand and replace pavers. Be thankful you don't have a concrete walkway. Aloha
