Changing Out Rainbird Heads

Hi All,

I know this is a fairly basic question but after scouring Rainbird's site, I cannot find a definitive answer by looking at the various models. Along a fence in one side of my yard I have those spider rotor's, the ones that shoot multiple strings of water continuously. I want to change these heads to standard spray heads in a 180 arc pattern, the way it should have been from the start (long story).

I know I cannot just change the nozzles on these heads because they have the rotor system in them. What I am trying to figure out though, is can I unscrew the head and pull the sprinkler out of the case and replace with a spray head or do I need to actually pull the whole the sprinkler out of the ground, remove from the poly pipe and reinstall a spray sprinkler back to the feed line?

I would think I could just remove the head and pull the unit from the outer sleeve but Rainbird has no diagrams in their pdf's or guides on changing out entire heads. Just changing and adjusting nozzles.

Any help would be appreciated before I spend unneeded money.

Thanks guys
