Building a soaker hose manifold for raised bed

Howdy, first post, so be gentle :)

My wife and I built a 4 x 8' raised bed to start a Sq Ft garden in. I am thinking of building a soaker hose system for the bed. Here's what I imagine would work. Take a 3/4" PVC pipe and run the length (8') of the bed down one side. Put a series of "T"s to connect 8 - 4' soaker hose lengths to. Would look something like this:

___________

___________:

___________:

___________: The dotted line would be the 8' PVC pipe.

___________: The 8 horizontals would be the soaker lengths.

___________:

___________:

___________:

Do you think I would get enough pressure throughout the "system"? I'm thinking of running this off a timer also.
