Rain barrels and remote garden

Anyone have any good ideas for how to combine the use of rain barrels with a garden that's far from our house? Usually, we see rain barrels at a house's downspout. In our case, that would then mean having to somehow transport that collected water UPHILL about 100' to where our garden is (not so much the fault of bad planning as a weird lot).

Anyone else have a solution to this predicament?

They say that water does not flow uphill. If you can construct your rain barrel so that the bottom of it is higher than the point of delivery you can do it. If that is not possible then a (sump?) pump should do it. Incidentally, isn't a river that flows towards the equator flowing uphill?

do you have a riding mower? if so, then buy a tow behind cart. put the rain barrel in teh cart and when you need to you simply drive it up the hill to use the water.

i have a couple barrels around my house, but my wife uses those to water her beds. the garden itself is a good 300 ft from teh house, and thankfully it has water fromt eh irrigation well already run to it.
