Irrigation Shallow Well

Hey everyone,

I'm located in the Clearwater Florida area and am going to be putting in a shallow well to use for watering my garden, has anyone in this area done this? I plan to jet 2 well points down for a 3/4 HP pump using the Brady method I found in a PDF online.

If you have, I'm looking for some advice on the depth I will need to go.

Hi mikeb73,

18" to 24" below the water table as found by checking you pipe for a stable water level(I'd go 36"). This is stated in the pdf. Sounds like a good system, but I think you will have to put in three or four well points for each take-off source point. Use the foot valve to keep the lines from draining from your pump to keep primed. JMHO and I have never put in a similar system. Let us know how it turns out and if you like their set up. Anyone with specific experience with this system let us know. aloha
