water pressure drop

This is not really lawn sprinkler related, but close enough. I plan on running water from my house to my cabin which is 1000 feet away. I was going to simply run 1000 feet of 3/4 inch sprinkler pipe until I started thinking. Will I have any pressure at the other end after 1000 feet. Is there anything special I need to do or consider before I run my 1000 feet of tubing? I would hate to do this and be sorry after the fact . .that is a long trench. :)

You did not state what your static water pressure is nor your GPM requirements. . . Anyway, I would certainly not go with the 3/4" line over that long of a distance. You should be looking at at least 1 1/4" or larger depending on your water requirements. There are different pressure losses for pvc pipe and poly pipe.

One other important thing. Is there any elevation changes? That too is a major factor in sizing pipe.
