Water in valve box

I have a 9 zone system - mostly Toro. I have one particular valve that intermittently fills the box with water. I have dismantled the valve, replaced the solenoid and diaphragm. I can turn off the master valve and the water drains. It will not fill again until after using that zone. Any ideas of why? Thanks, Nelson

What is the model of the Toro valve? Does it have a screw of bonnet(top)? Is the bonnet one piece or two pieces?

You might have a break in the line near the valve box. You might want to check for any leaks. Or can you see the water coming from the valve. If you can it might have a crack in the bonnet (the top) or the base of the valve.
