Acid injection to lower pH in drip irrigation system

Hi,

I have a battle with high alkalinity here in the desert. The Los Angeles Waterworks supplies water that ranges from 8 pH to 10 pH. In addition, we dont expect any measurable rain from the end of April to the beginning of October.

My vegetable garden is suffering from this poor water quality.

I would like to begin injecting acid into the drip system to correct the water pH down to a more acceptable range.

I am pretty good at tinkering so I am wondering if anyone has an idea of how to build a low cost system for injecting acid into my garden's 1/2" drip line.
