Moral Support needed

I have (somewhat)successfully laid out my 1/2 inch tubing all around my tomatoe beds. Due to procrastination on my part and not getting my trellis supports in place in time...My tom's are now sprawling plants instead of staked ones...so I had to tiptoe in and around them to get the tubing close to them for effective watering.

NOW I need to get out there and put in the emitters. I have a little tool I bought and it is going to take some careful and gentle manuvering to get in there and get these things in place.

I've never done this before, and I just want to do it right.

Is it just a simple process? stick a hole in the tube, push in the emitter, done deal? are there any tricks to make this step "stick" and be done correctly?

thanks in advance!!
