 o
Weep hole in timer

I bought the timer in the photo to connect to my soaker hose so I can water my flower beds twice a day. I set the timer, connected it, then turned on the water on low.

Immediately when I did that, water started trickling out of a weep hole that existed in the neck of the timer (opposite the black thing.

I bought another time and it too had the same weep hole that leaked until the timer went off at the set time.

The constant trickle of water adds up if you leave the faucet and timer on all the time.

Is this just a hazard of using these kind of timers?
