my hose broke twice this month

I wonder why my hose cracked open twice this month. Is it possibly some kind of wild lives chewed on it? Or the materials used in the hose did not hold it up well in the hot weather. It's not even 2 years. By the way, I found these two incidents out when I forgot to turn the water off. Water burst out through the broken holes.

Hi Chueh,

A few questions please. Is this a solid hose or a soaker hose(hose with many small holes in it)? What do you think chewed on your hose(rough gnawed edges at break)? In dryer areas insects and small animals chew to get water or use the plastic to nest. High pressure can also cause ruptures. What is your water pressure? Aloha

Hi, thanks for replying. It is a solid hose. The crack looked like 5/8" slit. I don't turn water on all the way, so the pressure should be ok
