1 inch rubber hose joiner

Our house came with a very long hose, 1 inch in diameter. It is joined with some brass hardware in the middle. This part has sprung a leak. I tried sealing it with some petroleum jelly, but it didnÃ¢ÂÂt help much.

I have tried to find a hose repair kit for 1 inch hoses, but come up empty in my online researches. Does anyone have any advice on how to mend this hose, what parts to buy?

What is the outside diameter of the hose? What is the hose material? Without more info the only idea I can think of is two auto hose clamps with a slightly oversized rubber sleeve. aloha
