As I've said before, the only thing funny about funny pipe is watching someone try to remove a fitting from it.
If I were you, I'd cut off the ell and put a new one on it.

Abandon the funny pipe and all barbs it's attached to.

Seriously! Just replace the whole thing: pipe, barbs, and all.

Remember this barb connection is designed to withstand water pressures at 50psi and above. The only way I've ever gotten funny pipe off a barb was to cut the pipe off the barb with an exacto knife. Problem is that you run the risk of cutting the barb. Sliced my hand open with the knife last time I tried it. So now I've learned my lesson and don't try anymore.

The only other suggestion I've got is to cut the funny pipe in half and insert more funny pipe with a pair of strait barb x barb fittings.

Here's what you do. You cut the funny pipe off, leaving about a half inch sticking out. Then get a pair of needle-nose pliers and grab an edge of the funny pipe and rotate the pliers so that the funny pipe starts to spiral in. This effectively reduces the funny pipe diameter and you should be able to get it out through a combination of twisting and tugging. If the funny pipe was originally inserted pretty far, you may need to repeat this operation a couple of times.
