Irrigation: How big should the irrigation valve & main line be?

Hi,

I am planning to install an irrigation system. We are on city water with static pressure ranging from 66 to 74 PSI and the flow is about 11 GPM. The water mainline seems to be 3/4" copper.

I am in Canada and the ground freezes in winter. From what I read the best material for us would be Poly pipes. I also read that it is a good idea to have an irrigation main line slightly bigger that the main house line. Can any one tell me what size valve and Poly I should use.

Thank you in advance for your time and advices.
