I was reading this Home Electronics magazine a couple months back. I saw this new product that just launched called Cyber-Rain. Its a sprinkler controller that saves money by monitoring weather by being connected on the internet. There are a bunch of other features. I got mine about two weeks ago and think its amazing. I've tried some of the other products like Rain Bird, Torro and I think this is the best of the group.
