I found the best way to re-prime a simple well pump. This a a guarenteed way that will work everytime. Attach a hose bib to the outflow port of your pump.(usually, there is a pressure guage in this spot). Get a washer machine hose/fill line; (this has female fitting on both ends)and attach one end to the hose bib and the other to any nearby outdoor hose bib. Close the valve going to your distributer and ,of course, open the the valve on the hose bib on top of pump. Turn the water on and let the line fill with water. Give it a minute or two then open the valve to the distributer zones and then turn the pump on. The pump will reprime. This method is great because it will also make it easy to spot pressure leaks too.
