relay switch not closing...

the relay switch isn't closing unless i do it manually inside the box. when i do that,the pump comes on but the sprinklers will not.is that a sign that i might need a new box and selinoids possibley?what would cause that relay switch to malfunction? thanx

is your controller sending 24 volts to the pump start relay?
