Is there a good way to clean soaker hose so it will work again if it gets plugged with lime? The old rubber one I used to have quit dripping after a while, and actually formed a hard mineral crust on the surface. I assume the pores totally filled with lime. Our water is very hard here, high in lime and also in reduced iron, which of course oxidizes to rust. So, everything eventually develops a rusty lime crust.

I just bought a new, cloth soaker hose and want to prevent that from happening or treat it if it does.

Could it be soaked in an acid solution such as vinegar?

Or, should I just plan it being disposable after a season or perhaps two of use?
