These heads are difficult in comparison to some others. If you were to hold the rotor in your hand, before installation, you'll see just below the turret there is a band or "ring" you can hold while adjusting. If you look closely there are engraved pictures of a half circle, quarter, etc. There is also an arrow or line (can't remember)on the top turret, to correspond with your desired setting. Simply turn the turret till the indicator line matches the setting you desire. The un-marked lines in between these part-of-circle engravings on ring are for in between settings that are'nt exactly a true quarter or half circle etc. If the head seems to adjust opposite as you had mentioned, the head is either defective from the factory, or has been adjusted too roughly and has reversed the internal gears. Most rotors will function under these conditions, but you as the owner just have to be aware of this when adjusting. Everything is "opposite". Fun, fun, eh? Good luck!
