use of dehumidifier/ac water

I wasn't sure where to post this question and this looked like as good as any. I have a dehumidifier in my basement that takes in a lot of water. is it safe to use this to water my plants, indoor and outside? plus we have an outside pipe that drains the condensaton from acs. is this safe to use also? one aspect is that I am not wasting this much needed resource. thank you.

Hi Nancy,

Your good to go. It is condensate so it is more pure than rain water. The soil and plants themselves also act as filters. Are you in a water shortage situation in your area? Otherwise long term water tends to move in a phased cycle and actually never gets used up but comes back for use again unlike coal and oil. Sometimes it come back with a vengeance. Aloha
