Desperately Seeking Advice for Lake Water Systems

MY brother and I have built a HUGE terraced hillside at our lakehouse with now too many planter beds to count. (A waterfall is next) Problem is... now that I have it 25% planted (with perennials) we are having a heck of a time keeping it watered. The obvious solution is an automated sprinkler system.

I just wonder however, if the lakewater we pump through it will soon clog every outlet with algeae and debris, even though I maybe run it through even a 5 micron filter? I'm afraid that a low volume drip system wouldn't do well without purified city water.

Before I jump into installing a watering system that might fail, I'd appreciate any advice you friends can offer it you have experience with using lakewater.
