 o
multiple valve control with controller?

Hi and greetings from a nubie!

Was wondering if it is possible for my Rainbird controller ESP-LX MODULAR to control 5 valves at one time, in other words, that it can maintain 5 valves open for 6hours instead of sequentially opening one valve at a time.

My 4 acres of hay grass gets a ration of 12hrs watering once a week. I have 10 valves and my system is good for 5 valves at a time without drop in pressure (opened each valve manually). Would sure like to know how to get my box to open 5 valves all at once automatically

thank you in advance

Jaime

j,

Probably not. I don't know who set up your system but if you have that good of flow and pressure, you should have had only a 2 zone system and a smaller controller. You can make a manifold by removing 8 of the 10 valves to create two zones with one valve each. JMHO Aloha

Providing that the controller can turn on multiple valves at the same time. Do you:

1. have enough pressure to run 5 valves at the same time?
2. have a transformer that can handle 5 solenoids at a time? Each solenoid can draw 250mA to 300mA, you'd need a transformer that is at least 2A rated!
