sprinklers continue to run even after the valves have been change

Two valves were leaking and I replaced them. Now, when the main valve is opened for the water flow, all 3 zones of the sprinklers run at the same time. They keep running when rainbird timer is in any position, even off. I have checked the solenoid of all the zones in manual mode and they are working. I tried to replace the rainbird timer, same thing happened. Any suggestions?

My experience is limited to above-ground anti-siphon valves. They are connected to a timer, but I haven't used it in years. I cut my valves on and off by manually turning the solenoids. I'm wondering if you can get the valves to close by manually turning the solenoids. If so, perhaps something is haywire with the wiring.
