Sprinkler valve leaking

Posted by jaxo (My Page) on

The valve has always leaked somewhat when the drip irrigation is running, but it has become worse. Now so much water is leaking and spraying that water actually hits the wall.
It's hard to see in the photo, so I have drawn black lines to show where the most water is running.
How can this be fixed. Of course, I have already tried twisting the round cap tighter, but it is already tight.

Look up the valve maker and model on the Internet. Usually they have a troubleshooting guide for them.

Replacing the diaphragm, or sometimes the whole inner workings, is an easy DIY job.

Can't see a picture...

Do you have an anti-siphon valve?

jaxo,

I'm in LG's camp. Unscrew the the thing and check the o-rings and seating to see if damaged and replace what you see damaged. Or change it out. JMHO Aloha
