Best bang for the buck but it's just my opinion.

Sprays - Rainbird 1800 series
Rotors - Hunter PGP
Valves - Rainbird DV series
Controller - Rainbird ESP modular

Anything but Toro. If you would like some used Toro parts, I usually have a couple five gallon buckets full next to the trash every couple weeks.

My preference, and it is based upon ease of installation / adjustment combined with durability is Weathermatic. I don't use Hunter rotors anymore, not because of their durability, but because they stink to adjust.

Rainbird makes some good products so does K-Rain and Nelson.

Most times we use Hunter Prosprays, or Weathermatic Sprays with rainbird nozzles.

Weathermatic T-3 Rotors are awsome.

Valves are all about the same in my opinion, but you do get what you pay for. I like the bleed lever on the Weathermatic, and I prefer the ones with flow control, in case we get a small zone that is too hot, and is misting not spraying.

I love the Weathermatic Smarline controllers. 1 button manual program control for my older customers. It also is a breeze to program. The SL800 will go to 8 zones and is very inexpensive for a controller with so many features.
The SL1600 is what we installed the last 2 years on anything with 5 or more zones. Not one failure.
