The lawn would probably not get enough water by have pressure lower than what is optimum for the sprinklers to satisfy the lower pressure requirements for the soaker hoses. JMHO. Aloha

The actual static pressure in the feed pipe is 84psi. I intend to use a 30psi pressure regulator for the soaker hose and individual pressure regulators of 40 psi for the sprinklers. However I am concerned the flower beds will get to much water if I run the system to satisfy the needs of the lawn.

I guess my question is how much water should a flower bed get in comparision to a lawn?

Here is a method to determine what is happening at both places. It is taking a water audit usually applied to lawn sprinklers to determine sprinkler coverage problems. Place cups out around the lawn. Also place a cup under the soaker hose. Run the sprinklers to obtain an approximate 1/4" depth in the cups. Measure all the cups and and take an average. Should be 1/4" average. You will see the places you get over 1/4" and places you get under. The measure the cup under the soaker hose. Let us know here what depth was in the soaker hose cup. By the way 84 psi is very high pressure for a system. Aloha

I actually think that is not a bad idea at all. That should be enough pressure for your lawn sprinkles. I'd go for it! Let us know how it goes because I might end up doing a very similar setup for my back yard.
