Your description is little confusing to me. There are differences in parts to each brand of sprinkler, for example nozzles. The whole sprinkler head should be interchangeable where you have 1/2" pipe thread fittings for connecting the different brand heads. There are different flow rates for different types of heads even within the brands. You have to look at the flow rates and throw distances for certain pressures for any type of head you need. That is how you estimate the duration of irrigation. JMHO Aloha

Toro and rainbird sprinkler head bodies are not interchangable. The individual nozzles are also not interchangable. Toro's nozzles are male thread and Rainbirds are female. I would go with the Rainbird spray heads. We have used them for years and their reliabity is great.

I have a similar issue Rainbird Vs Toro - the gardener is adamant about using Toro but I have a lot of Rainbird nozzles left over from previous setup. if the Toro flakes out I assume all i have to do is change all Toro bodies and reinstall Rainbird? I assume the attachment (sprinkler body) to the actual water supply piping would be all the same?
