First, turn your auto-valve solenoid counterclockwise enough to just turn on the zone (turn off zone by turning the solenoid clockwise just enough to turn off zone, do not over tighten solenoid). If the zone does not turn on, try some more zones. If no zones come on, listen to the pipe or backflow preventer that is just after your system's main valve. You should hear the water moving through the piping when a zone is on. If you can't, you have a main shutoff valve failure (valve stays closed) and probably needs maintenance or replacement.
