Do the hardscpae first, but make sure your contractor has abundant sleeves prior to installation of the hardscape. Sleeve the project w/ multiple 4" sleeve for future irrigation, drainage, electric, gas ect.
Once the hardscpe is finished, then you install the irrigation system around it.

Thanks all_wet. Drainage and gas are already in. It's sprinklers and LV lighting that might be an issue, and I'll ask for big pipes to make pulling easy.
