Have an electrical pump guy look at it. It will probably be related to how you system was set up. Could be just a disconnect wire and then again may not. Aloha

I have just invested in a set of sensors to monitor water levels and thereby control a remote water pump. These sensors are connected to a device called a water level controller which reads the sensors input and sends and activate/deactivate signal to the pump. (so far so good) the controller can handle upto a 1/2 HP motor anything larger than that requires a relay. I have a 1 HP water pump which consists of a pressurized tank, a relay, and a pressure indicator. Whenever the pump pressure exceeds a certain limit the pump shuts off and i have to reset the relay. Question: will this relay also serve to operate the aforementioned level control unit or do i have to buy an additional relay ?

I guess I am missing something. So you have to explain a little bit more clearly. The water pump feeds a pressure tank that has a pressure limit shutoff? That seems to me how the system should work. When the tank reaches system design pressure the pump stops. I guess I don't get the resetting of the pump start/stop relay. When a too low pressure in the tank is reached it should start the pump. That system would be separate from your water level sensors. Why two separate sensing systems for the same pump. What is the pump used for? a sump pump where water level would regulate the pump or an irrigation system that would use the pressure regulation system. Aloha
