Can Rainbird NT series be used with drip system!

I see in Rainbird's documentation that they appear to be using their NT series pop up heads with an underground system and not a hose bib type drip system. Can I use these as a hose bib setup, provided I install a 40 psi regulator? It seems I can, since they connect to their 1/2" drip line, but wanted to ask before ordering. My landscaper is almost finished (only the camellia bed left) and would be nice to have pop up sprayers to keep the dogs away.

Please clarify your post. how is the underground system (drip?) coming off the pop up heads? How are they mixing a pop up system with drip? Is that what you mean?

After a few visits to the local Rain Bird distributor, I did the converting myself. The NT Series is only marketed to areas such as California, reason why the locals never heard of it. It is a pop up system and really easy to install (provided you have an auger/bulp bit for head installation). Thanks for the response!
