Winterize Drip System in Southern New Mexico?

I live in Las Cruces, NM. During the winter we will get into just below freezing temperatures for a few hours a night for about a month. I was told by my local nursery to water my Ash Tree, Mexican Elder, Roses, Bermuda lawn and Italian Cypress' once a week for the late fall and winter seasons. I currently have a partially above ground drip system on an battery powered timer in place that waters everything (sprinkler for lawn). Living in the climate that I do, do I have to winterize my drip system (aka take off the timers, flush the hoses and not use during the winter)? If so, I guess I will have to water by hand. Any advise?
