Depends on whether you have any slope in the system and any low spots. Normally the water will drain out the drippers when you turn it off, so the hoses will be at least partially empty unless you have low spots without drippers where it will pool. If you disconnect the hoses and drain as much out as you can, there will be expansion room for water that remains and freezing weather won't hurt the pipes. When you do water, just do it in late afternoon on warm days so any ice in the lines has melted and it doesn't plug the drippers.

Thanks for the info...but will the electric timers be okay when it freezes? Or should I take those off and just manually turn on the water for the winter?
