Irrigation lines?

I am about to install my first irrigation system and have some questions.

First: The system will be well fed (the well driller

is coming this week). He tells me I should

expect 10 to 15 gpm at 40 psi. The mainlines

will be 1 1/4" PVC, about an 80' run to the

valve box. After that 1" poly pipe with 3/4" T

feeds to the sprinklers.

My question is, will I be wasting time and money by

using a 1" poly loop to feed the sprinkler zones

from both ends. My thought is I will have a more

even water distribution and pressure to the sprinkler

heads.

Also, what poly pipe should I use? I live in

southwest Mich. and it gets very cold but does poly

pipe get very brittle when it freezes. I doubt the

pump will put out more than 60/70 psi. is 100psi

pipe sufficient?
