mixing galvanized with plastic in system???

In needing to raise a couple of heads, I could not locate plastic fittings and thus used a galvanized coupling to plumb the new head. I realize galvanized is not forever but has anyone had experience in using galvanized fittings in their inground system? If I get 10 years, it should be enough. Or are there other problems such as different rates of contraction in cold weather?

You will have no problems. Use plenty of teflon tape. Aloha
