RainBird Sprinkler System wont TurnOff

I have a 12 year old RainBird ESP-6SI.When I turn dial from Auto to Off,the system still stays on schedule and waters.Does anyone know how to resolve this problem? Rain Bird toll free customer service # does not pick up,as I have tried for 3 days.

I would do two things for a discontinued model.
1. Replace the rechargeable NI-Cad battery.
2. Reboot controller after battery replacement(turn power off per at least a minute and turn back on).

Third thing if nothing works is buy a new controller.
