Can I use the OUTDOOR Hunter Pro-C w/ regular plug

Posted by baronvdb Florida (My Page) on

Hey guys, i got a great deal on the outdoor version of the Hunter Pro-C controller. I will be using indoors and I was wondering if I can just buy a plug at home depot and plug it in to a regular plug in my garage (it doesn't come with a plug because they expect you to hard wire it).

Thanks!!!

Baron,

Since no one else has chimed in, here is my $0.02. Check that there are three wires and the transformer should take 110v and wire a three prong plug matching colored wires and plug it in and see what happens. But don't come back here and tell me it fried. My real advice is contact a electricity literate friend or hire an electrician, that is your safest bet and worth the money. JMHO. Aloha

Yes you may plug it into the wall just buy a pig tail. The wiring is simple green goes to green and the other colors don't matter.

Here is a link that might be useful: DIY Site

Absolutely, you can. Inside the box behind the panel is another small enclosure. You will find 3 wires (black white & green) You can purchase a plug from an irrigation dist. called a pig-tail, or get a grounded extension cord from HD, and cut the plug end off and split the wires to make the connection. Use common sense!! If your not sure, go to the Dist and get the pig tail. The person should be able to show you how to do it.
