drip irrigation for 1-2 acres of orchards and coconut palms

hi,

i am in the process of planting coconut palms around the property and to consider planting various fruit trees next year. initially i may want to plant in one acre. and to maximize water utility i am thinking drip irrigation may be the best. feel free to correct me if i am wrong. so i plan to start planting way in the back of the plot with coconuts in the periphery and rest of the acre with mangoes and other tropical fruits. the pictures i have seen in the backyard gardeners with trees have grass in between , but i am not sure if i want grass between the trees. however passing by in homestead a year ago, i noticed the mango orchards are neatly planted in rows and and have no groundcover or grass. ideally i would like to grow them in lines and with about 10-12 feet between trees either mangoes or palms. so what do you experts suggest.

thank you for all suggestions.
