I have a Hunter Pro C Outdoor Sprinkler Control timer that operates a small drip irrigation system. The unit worked well for about a couple of years before the digital display went out, rendering the unit inoperable. It is located on the north side of my house and receives a lot of direct sun in the summer, when temps reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I pretty much only use one station and need only a very basic unit. Is there a big difference in durability and reliability between a $40 unit from a big box store and a $150 unit from a irrigation supply store? I'm interested in getting opinions on sprinkler control timers.
