 o
Calibrachoa - To share or not to share . . .???

I have a fair amount of self-saved calibrachoa seeds this year and am in the process of testing the viability with thoughts of trading some. However, I have patent concerns. I just did a search of the topic and it seems there isn't much consensus. It depends on which forum you're reading. These seeds are from a plant I received as a gift, and I really don't know whether they were Million Bells, Super Bells, or whatever. Any thoughts on whether it's safe to offer them simply as calibrachoa without infringing upon anyone's rights?

In consideration of the fact that they won't be grown to sell or mass produce....I don't see a problem with it.

They protect them to keep nurseries from marketing them as their own product.

Most Heucheras, as well as many other plants, are protected, but people still trade them for personal use.

Many times, plants don't come exactly true from seed, anyway....
