I've read up a bit on the BARF diet a few years ago, but seems too time consuming...especially feeding 3 large dogs! Plus you need to really make sure to get the right proportions of protien, fats, carbos and fiber and then you need to supplement with other vitamins and minerals. Also I fear it's just too risky to feed raw meats as far as parasites and disease are concerned. As for dry cat/dog food I've always read that dry food was best to help in keeping the teeth clean...prevents too much plaque build up/gum disease.
Did you also hear about the hype with Beneful brand dog food (dry food)? I just came across that article while surfing this past weekend. I was freaked because that is what our dogs eat. Apparently 2 different dogs suddendly died after being switched to this food, but in follow up articles 2 different independent lab specialists found it to be unrelated to the food. Whew!!
