How do I dig up runners from a plant?

The plant in question is Lady Bells (adenophora liliifolia) false campanula. It is a three year old WS perennial. There are several runners that 'are not' near the original clump. I would like to dig these runners up and transplant them somewhere else if this is possible. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Well, gently dig down and see if you can tell if it has set its own roots, yet...if it has, you can separate it from the mother plant and pot it up...

If it is a runner and not a natural layering, then you will need to check it for roots. Gently dig down and see if you can tell if it has set its own roots, yet...if it has, you can separate it from the mother plant and pot it up...
