A Variegated Catmint???

This is sooooooooo weird! I just came in from outside where I was clipping one of my large catmints back. The catmint is just a common species (no cultivar) Nepeta mussinii. Anyways, coming up from the center back I found a single stem with white variegation on the normal grey/gree leaves! I clipped it off and am going to try and root it. Wouldn't it be cool if I can propagate this? There was only one so it's my only shot!!

Well, there actually is a variegated form...wonder if yours had both in there....

Or...yours could have reverted until now when you are seeing some of the variegation come around....

Hmmmmmm.....

Hi webkat,

Mine are the common straight species; not cultivars or hybrids.

It is! But, sad news. My cutting killed over LOL! However, since I didn't remove that whole variegated stem (only taking a tip cutting), maybe I'll see it again :D
