WANTED: Newbie to Gardenweb

Posted by ag-teacher NY Z4-5 (My Page) on

Hello I am an Agriculture teacher in central New York. I am new to Gardenweb and winter sowing. I am looking for an inexpensive way to enourage my fall basic ag class to get into gardening. We have a Greenhouse and every spring we grow (mostly annuals and vegies) for a plant sale. It benefits the studens and our FFA chapter. My sister has gotten lots of great information over the years on gardenweb and pushed me to ask for help. I am looking for seeds that would be good for our program. If anyone has extras they are willing to donate, I would love it. I am sure we will offer seeds in the future. I am willing to send self addressed envelopes or pay for postage.

Thanks
Erin

Hey there :-)
I'm in CNY also (Oswego)and I'd be happy to send you some of whatever I have in collected seeds.
And if you'd like to see a garden made of primarily WS plants, come on by! :-)
Just send me an email through my GW page.

RE: WANTED: Newbie to Gardenweb

Hello Erin -

Just had to "stop by" and chat from another FFA: my father was head of the FFA (and taught agriculture) in my school before he retired many years ago... - in southern Maryland. So had many "older brothers" as I was growing up with only sisters at home.

I don't have as many seeds as Trudi - that's for sure - and have been wintersowing for just a couple years -but definitely willing to share what I have. And sure glad to help anyone connected with the Future Farmers of America.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Barbara (bulbs)

Thanks to everyone for your responses. This is the first time I have had a chance to check the postings and am still trying to navigate the GW. I hope to get in touch with everyone personally about your offers.

Thanks again
Erin
