Oh, what a good idea! Number one on my list has to be hazelnut, I really want to have them growing here! After that, could be anything.., shrubs, I would love to have a big "snowball"-type hydrangea or viburnum. Do blueberries count? Anything edible. I love any kind of tree, so I can't pin that down, but I'd really like to try Japanese maples. The list goes on forever! If I have seeds on someone else's wishlist, should I post here, or email them? And is it okay if they are seeds that I received from someone else in trade? Sorry, I don't remember how this works, and I would love to share! Angel

RIght now the only tree I am looking for is Dwarf Red Buckeye and the only shrub I need is a native flame azalea. I found seeds for the other two shrubs I wanted by searching the members exchange page Penny

I would love to find seeds (or better yet, cuttings) of Buddleja lindleyana. Kathy
|
Angel Most people do get more seeds trading than they can use at one time and many people do trade extra seeds that they have received. If you have extra seeds that you aren't going to use why not trade them for something you can use. Penny

Yay, someone is sending me a few hazelnuts! I think I'm going to try some of those you get at the grocery, too. No luck last year, but other people have done it! MrsGalihad, I have been drying some elderberries that were left on the bush/tree since you started this thread. They were tiny little shriveled up things when I found them, so I didn't try to separate them, and I don't know how many seeds are in a berry. I only have 25-30 of them, but if no disaster befalls them (like kids or dogs!), I can send them to you. I also have five seeds of "white fringe tree" from a round robin trade that I'd be glad to share (don't know if it is American fringe tree or not). I think I have some other things on your wants list, too. Gardenmadness, how about wild plum, hickory, or black walnut? If you need any, let me know! Jocpinct, I am going to email you! :o) Thanks! Angel

Good post! I'm badly in need of some shrubs for windbreaks along the garden fence, but I want them to do double duty and provide food for me or at least the chickens. It has been kind of tough, most things either want to grow into trees or colonize into thickets (though I have a few places for such plants here and there...) Let me know if you've got any seeds that might fit that bill. Right now I'd also be interested in seeds of: I have to trade: And I could probably go out and gather black walnut, pignut hickory and burr oak if anyone is interested. I can also save some unknown but very tasty variety of pear. I know seeds won't grow true but you could get lucky, and wildlife isn't picky - deer, rabbits and birds all love pears!
