| Just found this forum and LOVE IT!! I live in zone 5 with zero and below temps usually a foot or more of snow. However, I live in the middle of corn and bean fields. Therefore, it is extremely windy. I cannot keep my barbque grill upright, cannot have a wreath or outside decorations..even our door mats blow away. So putting lightweight containers outside, well I would not trust them in that kind of wind. I can find a way to sink containers in my newly made raised beds next year, but this year the soil is frozen. Sooo my question:
We just had a sun porch put onto our house. So far this year, in the coldest of days, it only went down to 41 degrees. It seems to me that WS should work in the warmer temprature if I keep them out of the sunny areas and after the plants are set outside, they should harden off gradually for next years winter, but thought I should ask first. Would it be too warm for zone 5 plants? |

| Welcome to winter sowing. Some people in other zones use their porches for winter sowing. This part of the forum is the gallery for posting photos. I don't think many people come to it. You will get more and better responses by posting your question on the discussion part. Also you can do a search on winter sowing on a porch at the bottom of the discussion page to read previous postings.
