This was one of my trouble makers for four years. I think I was ruining the taproot. This made it through last winter. Oriental poppy.

Small's penstemon.

Lance-leafed coreopsis.

Persian cornflower.

Johnny-jump-ups. I picked up a few seeds from my sister's porch last summer. (Always carry a baggie or two)

Foxgloves.

Siberian Iris.

| Don, how tall would you say those Siberian Iris get? I love that color..which catalog did you find those in? I WS some poppies, most were HOS so they seem to be slow growing, all but one. I hope mine look lkie yours. Beautfiful! And that purple Foxglove..my favorite color. Now what year is that foxglove that it has bloomed like that? |

I think that "clump" is 3 or 4 years old. The second year it only had one bloom. I received the seeds in a trade marked dark purple Siberian iris. They do multiply fast. To the left of those blooms are some buds from the "clump" I winter sowed from other seeds from another swap. They were also marked "purple". They are about six inches shorter and a lighter purple. They get between 2 and 3 feet tall. They are more of a bulb instead of a rhizome. I just read that iris means rainbow.

I have had those foxgloves for several years. Most foxgloves are biennial. I allow seeds to drop each year. I gather seeds from both the foxgloves and Siberian iris. Both of them give many seeds. Don |

| Everything looks so healthy! I am letting my foxglove reseed too. I was just thinking of putting a layer of compost around the plants before they drop their seed. Last time they reseeded in soil that needed a little something but by then there was a carpet of seedlings so I didn't want to disturb the soil. I bought a couple of plants this year of a variety called Giant Shirley that I'd never heard of before. I'm not sure they are going to bloom this year though. Yours look great! Our gardens give us a good deal of enjoyment, don't they? :-) |

How do you gather seeds from the Iris? Love that foxglove color. Think you'll have some extras of that color to share? Have you seen any siberian Iris in any catalog that comes close to the color of yours? |
